 Each year, members of the Knights of Columbus St. Peter Damian Council 8699 don their famous yellow vests and help raise money to support people in our community who have Mental Retardation and Learning Disabilities (MR/LD).
In 2007, the Council raised more than $4,000, which was donated to the Claire Woods Academy in Bartlett and to Special Olympics, a project supported by the Bartlett Police Department.
St. Peter Damian Council 8699 will conduct its 2008 Mental Retardation and Learning Disabilities (MR/LD) Fund Drive, (also know as the annual Tootsie Roll Drive) on September 19-21, 2008. Council members will be manning various locations throughout Bartlett and Hanover Park during the day on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday evening and on Sunday morning, Council members will be present after all the masses. Your generous donations will enable the Council to provide funds to support the needs of the Claire Woods Academy and the Special Olympics, a project sponsored by the Bartlett Police Department.

The Knights of Columbus St. Peter Damian Council 8699 is very active in both raising money to help local organizations as well as raising awareness of important social and religious issues.
One of the more popular fundraisers for the Knights of Columbus St. Peter Damian Council 8699 has been the sale of commemorative bricks which can be engraved with your choice of text and one or more of three available religious symbols of your choosing. Once the commemorative bricks have been engraved, they will be placed in the area surrounding the Respect Life Monument adjacent to St. Peter Damian Church.
Orders for commemorative bricks for the year 2008 are now being taken. The commemorative bricks will be engraved and placed at the Respect Life Monument during various times of the year, depending on the number of orders received.

 The Knights of Columbus participated in the Bartlett Lion's Club's Sight Night Parade.
This annual lighted car parade is a lot of fun and the Knights had a blast decorating three different vehicles in 2007. |
